New Amps coming in 2023
Modern design wasn't originally for rich people. It was mass produced, high quality products for everyone. It was a manifesto that good design wasn't elitist. Looking at the vintage market and new products that aim to capture the aesthetic of that era, it seems we've forgotten this.
It doesn't mean that all of a sudden we're going to make low quality amps produced at the expense of the people who make them. These amps will never be the cheapest option, but they will be a lot more affordable than a handwired tube amp.
I still play my tube amp. I'll still sell them. But I I've also been playing my prototype amp in the studio and at shows. This newest amplifier is a class D design and I can't say I miss my tube amp. I never thought I would say that, but it's true. Bass guitarist have been quietly ditching their massive rigs in favour of class D amps for years. It's lighter, loud, and the good ones sound amazing. Maybe it's time for guitarists to look up from their pedal boards and take notice.
